At places like Yoshinoya you can buy a bowl of gyudon in Japan for as little as two dollars, but made at home this recipe is cheap to make and nearly foolproof. Japanese Gyudon, thinly sliced fatty beef cooked in a slightly sweet mixture of mirin and soy sauce served over rice. Lucky for me, I worked in an area of the city where restaurants were abundant and extremely varied.

- Siapkan teflon beri minyak. Tumis sebentar bawang bombay. Jangan sampai layu. Sisihkan..

- Tambahkan air secukupnya, masukkan saos tiram, kecap asin, gula pasir, penyedap rasa, bawang putih+jahe yang sudah diparut..
- Tes rasa jika sudah pas tutup teflon biarkan air sampai menyusut..
- Jika air sudah menyusut tambahkan bawang bombai oseng sebentar kemudian angkat dan siap untuk disajikan..
